PLEASE READ FIRST BEFORE SIGNING UP
It takes many people working together to create a successful production and we depend on volunteers to assist with each of our committees. Therefore we require at least one person from each cast member’s family to volunteer to work on one or more of our production committees. Please indicate your choices on the Production Committee Sign Up Sheet.
Here is a listing of the committees where your help is needed:
Costumes:
•Work with chairperson and directors to discuss styles and needs for the production
•Assist chairperson in locating and obtaining costumes through rental and/or second-hand shops
•Construct and sew costumes as needed and directed by chairperson
•Prepare costume information for the cast
•Assist with backstage duties during rehearsals and performances
•Help arrange and organize costumes in the dressing areas
•Help ensure cast members have returned all costume pieces to the appropriate areas after run of show
Props:
•Assess prop needs with director and chairperson
•Locate all props needed in the production
•Organize and set up prop tables backstage
•Assign person(s) to manage props during run of show
•Assist with packing and storing all props after run of show
•Return all borrowed items after run of show
Set
•Assist Set Designer with all areas of set construction
•Assist with move-in and construction of set pieces on stage
•Help with strike of set and clean up after final production
Publicity:
•Assist with the publicity campaign for the production as directed by the chairperson (s)
•Assist with distribution of flyers and materials in The Woodlands and surrounding communities
•Assist with getting publicity photos of the cast for the newspaper
•Assist with creating a large photo board of the cast to be displayed in the lobby during run of the show
Program Ads
•Plan and promote ways to sell advertising for the show program as directed by chairperson
•Organize individuals to sell business and personal ads for the program
•Prepare spreadsheet of ads sold, size and amount
•Ensure all program ads are submitted to program designer by required date
Concessions:
•Plan items to sell at concession stand as directed by the chairperson
•Help purchase food items & drinks (save all receipts for chairperson)
•Set up concession stand tables prior to each performance
•Sell items before each performance and during intermission
•Help clean up concession areas after each performance and store remaining items
Flowers/Telegrams
•Organize flower and telegram sales as directed by chairperson
•Design and create telegrams to be sold before each performance and during intermission
•Create pricing signs for flower selections and telegrams
•Purchase flowers prior to each performance (save all receipts for chairperson)
•Set up flower/telegrams tables prior to each performance
•Sell items before each performance and during intermission
•Help clean up area after each performance and store remaining items
Hair/Makeup/Dressing Rooms
•Help actors with makeup, hair, and costumes in dressing areas as directed by the hair/makeup designer
•Ensure the noise level remains low in the dressing areas
•Ensure cast members are aware of their stage cues
•Ensure all dressing areas are kept neat and clean during and after each use
Cast Party Host
•Plan a cast party for approximately 80-100 people after the show
•Work with director in securing a date for the party
•Secure an appropriate location and plan activities for the cast
•Plan and order/assign food items needed
•Prepare an invitation flyer and distribute to entire cast and crew
July 4th Parade (Summer Production Only)
•Plan and construct a float for entry in the annual July 4th Parade
•Secure a truck and flatbed trailer
•Arrange for volunteers to help with decoration of float
•Inform cast members of details about July 4th parade
•Secure water for the cast members participating in the parade
